be part of the story!
Last year, we had just under 3000 makers take part in the inaugural State of Handmade Survey, and the results were VERY interesting. But let’s face it, a LOT has happened over the last 12 months, and now we want to find out if things have changed or stayed the same for people in the handmade industry.
We already know a lot about you – the makers who are part of our community – but we want to know MORE.
We want to know how many makers want to have a full-time business vs. how many just want a side hustle.
We want to know how many makers are actually making a living, vs. how many are making a loss.
We want to know how many makers are selling on Etsy vs. how many are selling on Shopify – and how happy you are with each platform.
We want to know how your handmade business has been affected by COVID-19.
In short – we want to know more about YOU, so you (and we) can see the state of the handmade industry in 2021.
And we reckon you’re pretty curious as to how you compare to the rest of the community, too… right?
That’s why we’ve created The State of Handmade 2021 – a comprehensive survey to collect a swathe of data from makers all over the world: about the sort of work you’re doing, how much you’re working, how much you’re earning, the platforms you’re selling on, and much, much more.
We’re super-keen to gather (anonymous!) data from as many makers as we can. That’s why we’re asking you to participate in – and help to spread the word about – The State of Handmade 2021 survey.
We want to make this the biggest survey of handmade business owners that has ever been done!
But we can’t do it without your help.
We’ll be publishing the results once we have analysed them, so everyone in the handmade industry can benefit from a deeper understanding of our community. The deadline for survey responses is February 28, 2021.
The results will be available via thestateofhandmade.com, and at the end of the survey you can choose to sign up to receive the results right in your inbox – your email is not linked to your answers in any way though, it’s completely anonymous and the option to receive an email with results is totally optional, and collected separate from survey submissions to preserve anonymity.
We really hope you will be willing to help us take the pulse of the handmade industry via participating in The State of Handmade 2021 survey!
